My dress fits perfectly

After navigating an early rush hour (and bumper-to-bumper traffic due to an accident on the I-10) on Tuesday, I made it down to I Do I Do Bridal to pick up my wedding gown.

The ladies grabbed my dress off the rack and let me try it on. (Also, I forgot my strapless bra and had to borrow one from the store. I was stunned -- as was the sales associate -- they actually had my size. Victoria's Secret doesn't carry it, but the bridal shop has it on hand.)

It felt great. I walked up on to the hardwood stage and stood under the spotlights grinning from ear to ear -- my dress fits like a dream. Bust, waist and hips are perfect. If I elected to wear 4-inch heels, I wouldn't even need to hem the dress. However, between my weak ankle and not wanting to loom over Matt, flats or low heels will be the ideal route.

After oohing and ahhing at my dress and just how amazing it fit, I wandered over to the veil and tiara area and began trying on. My step-mom and I visited the Wedding Accessory Superstore last Sunday, and tried on veils and headpieces.

With a better ideal of what I was after, I found a beautiful pearl and crystal headband. I plan on wearing my strand of pearls on the big day, so the headband will be a great accent. It was just so elegant and looked stunning with my dress that I succumbed to purchasing it on the spot. It wasn't too pricey, and it was the last one in stock.

Now, I just need to figure out how I'll work it into my hair. Of course, for that I need to know how I want my hair to look. At this point I just know it will be up and won't look like the "Shear Genius" wedding winner (won't work with the headband).

The dress is in

I Do I Do Bridal left a message for me today saying my dress is in!

I'm stunned, because everyone said it would take a lot longer than this. So, I'll need to call on Thursday to make an appointment to come down and pick it up (and try it on again). Then, I will get to hunt for a seamstress to do alterations. I've heard a couple names thrown around.

If you know someone in the Valley who does stellar alterations, do tell.
